For one pizza.... you will need:

One small can tomato sauce, or tomato puree
One small can tomato paste
1/2-3/4 cup dry red wine
Several cloves fresh garlic
A fistful fresh oregano
A few leaves of fresh basil (basil is pretty strong, it can overpower other spices) What you want here, is for the spices to "marry" rather than having one or the other be predominant. At least, that's what I want.

Strip the oregano leaves from the stems.

Put the wine, oregano, basil and garlic in a measuring cup, small bowl or blender. Spin it up and mix thoroughly.

Add the tomato puree (or sauce) and paste.

Ready to be added to your pizza.

Enjoy!

I like the the fact this is a very simple recipe that is full of taste.

I used to think all spaghetti sauces (gravy), had to be cooked for hours in order to be good but that is not the case.

The trick is the sauce will blend together with the other ingredients on a pizza to create an entirely new taste.

thanks, Don.

Sounds good. It's amazing how sometimes simple is the best way to go.
