I want to start marketing my own fresh pasta that I make at home. I can make nests of fettuchini and spaghetti, but am really battling to fins a nice and inexpensive way to package the stuff. Has anyone got clever ideas on this issue please. I would like to supply to small home industries outlets etc

I am thinking that if I was going to do that, I would need to know what the requirements are for the package - you want something that seals so the moisture doesn't escape, and you want it to be appealing. It could be something as simple as the disposable "Glad" containers, or something from a source such as http://www.creativefoodpackaging.com/

Another consideration would be, what kind of hoops are you going to have to jump through to be able to do this, in terms of hygiene, safety, government regulations, labeling, etc. etc......

I applaud you on your entrepreneurial spirit!

I have thought of all the hygene regulations etc, but believe me, I cannot find
a practical, easy solution to the problem. I have already tried to freeze the pasta, and it seems to work, but does not look attractive at all. Lately I have seen some hard clear plastic trays, with a thin cellophane layer glued on top, but cannot find suppliers anywhere. I have searched high and low.

The packaging that I am now talking about seems to be very expensive and will be prohibitive in terms of the product that I want to sell.
