If you don't have this CD that Albert is offering..... why not?

This is a great resource! To hear him interview the legends of pizza is a truly maginificent experience. You will learn much from this.

If you are serious about pizza (and you are, or you wouldn't be reading messages on this forum) this is a "must have" item, and Albert has made it very affordable!

Papa Don,

I agree, LoP1 is a great listen. The interviews with Peter, Gary and Chris reveal their histories and passions about pizza. They all have amazing stories to share, and their passion for pizza runs very deep.

The ironic thing is that these guys would not describe themselves as "Legends of Pizza." They see themselves as humble craftsmen pouring their hearts and souls into a continuing quest to master the creation of simple food. They are in the business to nourish their customers' bodies and souls. Listening to the CD elevates the simple pizza to nearly sacred status.

On "Pizza Night" I take a listen for inspiration a few hours before I hit the kitchen.

=====

So Albert, who do you have in mind for Vol 2?

If you are accepting nominations, here are mine:
Ed LaDou of Caioti Pizza Cafe
Brian Spangler of Apizza Scholls
Anthony Mangieri of Una Pizza Napoletana
Dom DeMarco of Di Fara's NYC
Tony Gemignani of Pyzano's Pizzeria

Cheers, Tom

Thanks so much for your positive feed back about Legends of Pizza, Volume 1.

When I started the Legends of Pizza Project
http://www.pizzatherapy.com/legends.htm, I thought it would be simple: turn on the tape, start recording and boom, a CD is born.

I should have known better. I worked part-time in a small radio station in Vermont for several years, many years ago. In those days when you were working on a project, you recorded everything you needed before you got to the studio. Then you sat in a studio for hours and hours, usually by yourself and you did the old slice and dice, with a razor blade, recording tape, a reel to reel tape recorder and a roll of plastic tape to hold the splices together.

Now everything is digital so in a way way it is much easier. But in another way it really is an effort to go through every second of raw material and make it listenable. This is a home-made recording after all.

I have a new found respect for anyone who goes into the studio to record anything. The truth of the matter is: it takes a lot of time!

I will tell you this: Legends of Pizza, Volume 2 is in the works.
And the Legends of Pizza who I have interviewed are on your list!
(Not all of them, but some of them...)

(How did you know that? There is only one person who really knows and that's me: and I'm not talking!)

More on Legends of Pizza Volume 2, as it develops.

In the meantime, please check out Legends of Pizza, Volume 1.
This CD has really gotten rave reviews.
