On my recent journey to New England, I did a Clam Shack tour of Southeastern Connecticut.

Believe me there is nothing on earth like whole fried clams with the bellies on them.

These are not strip clams mind you. These are actually soft shelled clams dipped in a light batter and then plunged into hot oil!

I don't even want to think about the amount of calories you have when you dip them in tartar sauce.

They are very good, however. Forget the diet. Enjoy!
