Hi there!
I've been looking for a hearthkit on and off for a couple years now. This morning I gave it another shot and ran into your old page at

http://pizzatherapy.com/hearthkit.htm

It said if you have any information to send you an email.

I decided to do some digging, and I 'may' have come up with something.
Looks like on Feb 1, 2006 in the Superior Court of Connecticut, Judge Shay entered an order that Hearth Kitchen pay a little under $25,000 to Leathem Stearn. However, a judgement was also entered to what appears to be a case over who actually owned the intellectual property (Ceramic Oven Insert) was given to Hearth Kitchens...

Of course the whole thing starts off stating the decision is subject to further appellate review.

It all reads like a bunch of legal mumble jumble to me. So I may not have all of this right.

I'm trying to track down if there were more legal proceedings, or bankruptcy or whatnots...
Either way, it doesn't look good.
Here's the document I found

http://www.lexisone.com/lx1/caselaw/freecaselaw?action=OCLGetCaseDetail&format=FULL&sourceID=bdiedc&searchTerm=eKCK.jXNa.aadj.eeIa&searchFlag=y&l1loc=FCLOW

I'll let you know if I find anything else.
Robert

My response:

Thanks so much Robert!

You have really unearthed the mystery.

So it came down to a legal issue!!!!
Wow.

Please keep me posted if you find anything else.

pizza on earth,

P.S. My pal Gail C. won her $25,000 Pizza Challenge by using a hearth kit.

We don't talk about it in the interview, but she told me later she cooked on it at the food net work.

Here's the interview:
