I am wrap this dough around smoked grilled sausages and then bake. My family goes nuts for these! Smile

Serve with a nice mustard.

You can make bread sticks, rolls with this recipe too. A little bit spicy!!

I bake these in a 400º oven for 15 minutes, but every oven is different!

Pepper Knots

1 c. water
1/4 c. olive oil
1 T. sugar
1 1/2 t. salt
1 T. coarsely ground black pepper
1 T. fennel seeds
2 1/2 c. flour (up to another 1/2 c.)
2 t. yeast

Place in bread machine & use dough cycle. Check after 10 minutes to see if you need to add more flour.

When the dough is done, cut into 16 pieces. Cover with damp cloth & let rest 10 minutes. Roll each piece into an 8-inch rope. Twist into a knot, tucking the ends underneath. Place the rolls on 2 lightly greased cookie sheets and cover loosely with lightly sprayed plastic wrap. Set aside until doubled, about 45 minutes.

Bake at 450º for about 20 minutes, until golden brown. Cool completely on wire racks.

Recipe from this cookbook, “Pizza, Focaccia, Flat, and Filled Breads” – From Your Bread Machine – Perfect Every Time by Lora Brody

Stuffed with smoked sausages - I let them rise (covered) for 45 minutes and bake at 400º for 10 to 12 minutes (brushing olive oil on the last couple minutes).
