Okay I'm originally from New Orleans, live in CT, and have done a lot of traveling for pizza.

New Haven: I like Modern over Sally's and Pepe's. Amato's is also pretty good.

Brooklyn & Hoboken: Grimaldi's

Manhattan: John's was pretty good, and I'm always good for Famous Ray's or was it Famous Original Ray's.

New Orleans: Mark Twain's Pizza Landing in Metairie, New York Pizza on Carrollton Ave. Italian Pie was good, as was Reginelli's.

Houston: Been a long time and this place is long closed - Panjo's. That was the first pizza I fell in love with. I would drive 6 hours to eat their pizza.

Alexandria, VA: Generous George's

More CT places: Naples in Farmington - thin crust, but doesn't have the Bricks - still very good.

Casa Mia - new place in Plainville, brick oven, good stuff.

Hamden Pizza - pretty solid. Had another place in Haddam that was okay.

Willington Pizza: Very good, like the potato pizza

Greek or Sicilian style: I don't really care for it, but George's in Farmington is good, and West Main Pizza in Plainville is good. The rest... not so much.

Boston: Pizzaria Reggina's is great.

Columbus, Ohio - its like a cracker with sauce on it.

Atlanta: Uncle Vito's - Cherry Hill Road in Marietta. I stopped on my way through. Not bad stuff, maybe a bit doughy.

Cincy: Mama Rosa's. Sauce good, but more crackery. Toppings weak.

I've had more but that's enough.

Europe:

London: Bad experience, Pizza Express - this is like a bad Pizza Hut.

Rome: Capitano's in Ostia. I'd go back again, and I did. Twice in one day.

Paris - this was back in 1998. I can't remember the names, but one was close to the Eiffel Tower, very good. The one by the Bastille was better.

St Etienne: About two blocks from the train station we found a place and got three large pies for about $15.00, of course the Euro wasn't worth as much today, but that was great pizza.

Lugano, Switzerland: Just across the border from Italy, excellent pizza in the town square.

Frankfurt: Last month found a place near the city center. Heck I just threw the receipt. Decent pizza.

Amsterdam: Found a nice pizza place about a mile from the Centraal train station. Pretty good, and you can watch the people go into the Coffee shops and stumble out.

Utrecht: I'll have to get the name for you, but near the Canals there is a place on the bottom. Great service, great pizza. The owner is originally from Naples. Cool guys. I think it was La Grotto.

Hamburg: Found a place near my hotel on Mercure au der Messe, about a block away. Better than average pizza.

Florence: Two blocks from St Marks square, on the way to the big museum. Found a nice place, good pizza, skip the risotto.

That's enough for now, I'm planning on hittlng Naples in 2009, and hitting it hard!
