Here is my response:

Hey Steve, great question.

As far as taste, I think it does not matter. Same ingredients, same medium, same result.

You bring up a very interesting point. I have always put the sauce on first and then the cheese.

That is how I was taught to make pizza, that is how I make pizza.

Some pizza friends from Canada have said they always put the cheese on first and then the sauce on top of that.

They explained it really helps to dock the ingredients on top of the pizza. And you know that makes sense to me.

I think with either method you will get satisfactory results.

But the bottom line is, whatever you like, whatever tastes good to you is how you should make your pizza.
