I'm ashamed somewhat to share this with you, but when our 9 year old Grandson is with us and we want quick homemade pizza, we use canned bisquits as the crust. It's so easy! We stretch each bisquit to a 6 inch round.
We use the pizza sauce in the jar. We chop the pepperoni and other ingredients and mix it in the sauce, top with cheese and into a 375 oven. Embarassed

Why don't you take the kid to Grimaldi's?

Hi Vincevega,

I'm not too suprised about the crust idea, Pizza Uno here in NY has a very "biscuit" like crust. Would you say that this biscuit crust has about the same taste/texture as a biscuit? I'm interested in trying your technique.

Vinny

I think whatever works is OK.

That includes frozen shells, dough from a bakery or whatever you can get your hands on.

I encourage everyone to at least try making their own dough, however that is not always possible.

All right, I admit it: In the early years, before I knew how to make pizza,
here is what I did.

I cut an English muffin in half, spread sauce on the two sides, added mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and baked it.

I called it an English Muffin Pizza.

I have not made one in years...but I still think this is a great easy snack for kids.

There is nothing wrong with biscuit pizza. I used to make it all the time in college (still do if I want pizza and don't have time to really make a dough). I've definately also done the english muffin thing too. Very Happy

What is "pizza"? One definition you can find online is:

"A baked pie of Italian origin consisting of a shallow breadlike crust covered with toppings such as seasoned tomato sauce, cheese, sausage, or olives."

[Italian, pie, tart, pizza.]

Pizza is what you make it!
