				| This is our favorite pasta sauce, tastes even better the next day.
1 pound lean hamburger meat (fry and drain, set aside)
2 or 3 onions chopped fine
 2 stalks celery chopped fine
 1 green pepper chopped fine
 2 cloves garlic chopped
 2 tbls olive oil
2 lg cans diced tomatoes (28 oz each)
 2 small cans tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce (14 oz)
 3/4 tsp. powdered ginger
 1/2 tsp. sugar
 3/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
 2 tsp. oregano
 2 tsp. basil
 2 bay leaves
 salt and pepper to taste
The secret ingredient is....taaa daaaa!....1 cup ketchup.

Fry beef, drain and set aside. Fry veggies in olive oil till soft.
Add the beef and everything else, and simmer for 2 or 3 hours. Stir once in a while.
This recipe was given to my mom by an old Italian lady.
The sauce freezes well. Let me know how you like it.

				| I tried this recipe last night. I really enjoyed it. (I was suprized because the ketsup addition seemed a little iffy to me, but I put it in anyway). Nice job! _________________

				| Simmering the sauce is the real key here. People get in a hurry and slap stuff together, and wonder why the outcome is so poor. "Simmering" does wonders in allowing ingredients to break down and "marry" - or complement one another - if you know what I mean, and I think you do. _________________
