True story:

My brother Jeff was 14 when his brain cancer was diagnosed. This was in the mid '80s. He went through a nine hour surgery, and tons of chemotherapy and radiation. The chemo was the worst. He was so sick. He couldn't keep anything in his stomach, with one exception.

Mom and Dad would take him down to this little pizza place. They knew the owner, a sweet old man who was very strict about exact measurements for his ingredients and toppings. Imagine the surprise of his employees when Mom and Dad and Jeff would show up, and he would start piling on the cheese, pepperoni, and other good stuff.

That pizza was the only thing that Jeff could eat when he was on chemo. Which is why we say it saved his life.

Never, ever, underestimate the power of pizza....
